| On the morning of May 28th, Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association in collaboration with Van Hien University and Horizon TESOL successfully organized a workshop with the topic YOUR ENGLISH – YOUR GREAT JOB. The workshop was held with the participation of the Board of Rectors, Professors, Teachers and all the students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
The Organizing Committee is extremely honored to be warmly welcomed by Dr. Tu Minh Thien – The Rector of Van Hien University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc – The Vice Rector, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Thao – Executive Director of Van Hien University and the Board of Foreign Language Department including Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ha, Dr. Lai Khai Vinh and Ms. Bich Thuy – Head of the English Club.
On the other hand, the event proudly welcomed 3 keynote speakers: Mr. Ngo Nguyen Thien Ton, Mr. Le Hoai An and Mr. Nguyen Thai Duong.
- Mr. Ngo Nguyen Thien Ton is one of the most dedicated and qualified teachers who has years of experience in English Teaching and Training. He graduated with a degree in English Translating and Interpreting and possessed a TESOL Diploma of The University of Pedagogy. He then graduated the Master TESOL program from Edith Cowan University (Australia).
- Mr. Le Hoai An – CFA is one of the most brilliant lecturers of international programs at some top universities in Ho Chi Minh City such as Banking University, Hoa Sen University, Ton Duc Thang University. He is also head of the Analysis Department of Merlin Capital. Moreover, he is the author and translator of some famous books in the field of finance such as: Giải Mã: Kinh Tế- Đầu Tư – Gia Đình, The 9 steps to financial freedom, The laws of money,… Also, he specialized in analyzing the market, macroeconomics and finance for some of the prestigious newspapers such as Saigon Times, Forbes, Vietnam Finance,…
- Mr. Nguyen Thai Duong graduated from the University of Natural Sciences – HCM National University with a major in biological sciences and he is now an English teacher. He is the founder of Speak Only English Center and is also known as a “9x teacher” who possesses many hits on Youtube that help students relax and learn English at the same time.
At the beginning of the event, the Rector – Dr. Tu Minh Thien had shared profound and meaningful knowledge about the importance of learning foreign languages based on his life-long experience. In his opinion, English is an indispensable skill in modern life and it will definitely be a useful tool for those who live in any part of the world. In addition, the Rector expressed his deepest gratitude to the Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association, Horizon TESOL and the Department of the Foreign Languages for creating an interesting playground for students which help orientate and motivate them to pursue their future career path. He highly appreciated the content and meaning of the program YOUR ENGLISH – YOUR GREAT JOB due to its significant benefits to the students.
The next part of the event is a speech given by Mr. Ngo Nguyen Thien Ton. Mr. Ton gave very applicable and vivid examples about his career path which greatly inspired the students to build up their knowledge and follow in his footsteps.
The presentation of Mr. Ton was followed by a talk by Mr. Le Hoai An. Mr. An had shared about the most exposed and insightful reality of the labor market’s needs. His analysis was believed to help students have a clear view of the current situation in the marketplace and drive them to accomplish their career goals.
The last speaker of the program was Mr. Nguyen Thai Duong, who had brought comfortable moments to the audience with interesting perspectives in communicative languages. In this jubilant atmosphere, Mr. Duong performed his newest song which made all the audience extremely excited.
At the end of the program, representatives of Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association and Horizon TESOL awarded scholarships to students with excellent academic performance at Van Hien University. It is considered as a stepping stone for students to confidently advance their future career path.
The program ended successfully and brought a lot of meanings to the students of Van Hien University. In the upcoming time, the Organizing Committee would host a lot of promising programs and playgrounds with the purpose of providing students with insights about English Teaching Career.
